Generic Achromycin, Sumycin
(Generic name: Tetracycline)
Achromycin Uses
Achromycin treats infections
caused by bacteria and also to treat acne.
How Taken
Achromycin is available in multiple forms and is taken 1 to 4 times a day; 500 up to 2000mg.
Topical forms for acne treatment; apply 1 or 2 times per day as prescribed.
Achromycin Precautions
It is not advisable to consume alcohol while fighting an infection.

Missed Dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is close to the next dose,
skip it and just resume your regular schedule.
Achromycin Side Effects
Serious side effects associated with Achromycin may include increased frequency of
urination, increased thirst, unusual fatigue, discoloration of skin and mucous membranes.
Common side effects include stomach cramps, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting,
increased sensitivity to light, itching in genital or rectal area, sore mouth or tongue,
dizziness, lightheadedness or unsteadiness.
Storage
Store Achromycin in a tightly sealed container away from heat and direct light.
Overdose
If a suspected overdose, call your doctor. Symptoms of an overdose might include
sever nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or difficulty swallowing.
More Information
If Achromycin causes increased sensitivity to sunlight, wear protective clothing and
use a sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher. Limit sun exposure and if you are to have
surgery, tell your doctor in charge that you are taking Achromycin.
