Anafranil Uses
Anafranil is used to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, chronic pain and panic disorders.
How Taken
Anafranil
is prescribed 25mg once a day to start with increases up to 250mg per day.
Anafranil Precautions
Exercise caution until you know how you will react to the medication as drowsiness or confusion can occur.
Missed Dose
If you take a one time daily dose at night, do not take the missed dose in the morning.
I you take more than one dose a day, skip the missed dose and resume your normal schedule.
Anafranil Side Effects
Serious side effects may include confusion, sexual dysfunction, irregular heart beat,
hallucinations, seizures, extreme fatigue, drowsiness, vision problems and breathing
difficulty, constipation, staring and the absence of facial expression,
impaired concentration, difficult urination, fever, extreme and persistent restlessness,
loss of coordination and balance, difficulty swallowing or speaking, dilated pupils,
and fainting.
Should any of these symptoms occur, contact your doctor immediately or emergency services.
Storage
Store in tightly sealed container and keep away from heat and direct light.
Overdose
If you suspect on overdose, contact your doctor immediately.
Symptoms may appear as difficulty breathing, severe fatigue, seizures, confusion,
hallucinations, distractibility, irregular heart beat or fever.
More Information
The usual course for therapy lasts for six to twelve months and some patients may benefit from longer treatment.
