Betagan
Betagan Uses
Betagan is used to treat glaucoma.
How Taken
Betagan is prescribed for adults and older children as one drop in each affected eye once or twice a day.
The dose must be determined by your doctor.
Warnings/Precautions
Make sure the tip of the dropper does not touch your eye, finger, or any other surface.
If you are taking the medicine with the compliance cap, make sure the number one or the
correct day of the week appears in the window of the cap.
Missed Dose
Apply it as soon as you remember. If it’s near the time for your next dose, skip the
missed dose and resume normal schedule.
Betagan Side Effects
Palpitations, trouble breathing, dizziness, and weakness caused by low blood pressure
are all serious side effects. Call your doctor immediately.
Burning, stinging, tearing
and irritation of the eye when the medication is used are less serious side effects.
Storage
Store in tightly sealed container and keep away from heat, moisture and direct light.
Do not allow the medicine to freeze.
Overdose
If you suspect an overdose, contact your doctor immediately. Symptoms might include nervousness,
chest pain, confusion, hallucinations, coughing, wheezing, drowsiness, dizziness, nausea or vomiting,
irregular or pounding heart beat insomnia and unusual fatigue.
More Information
The decision to stop using the drug should be made by your doctor. Consult your doctor if you
have asthma, emphysema or other lung disease, heart disease or an over active thyroid gland.
