(Generic name: Clonidine)
Catapres Uses
Catapres is used to treat high blood pressure.
How Taken
Adults are to take an initial dose of .1mg twice a day.
The doctor may increase this to 3mg twice a day
Catapres Precautions
This medication may cause dizziness and drowsiness. Avoid potentially
dangerous activities until you know how this medication will affect you.
Missed Dose
Take it as soon as you remember unless the time for your next scheduled
dose is within the next two hours. If so, skip the missed dose and resume normal schedule.
If you miss more than one day’s dose, inform your doctor.
Catapres Side Effects
Serious side effects are less likely when used as directed.
Storage
Store in tightly sealed container and keep away from heat, moisture and direct light.
Catapres Overdose
If you suspect an overdose, contact your doctor immediately.
Symptoms might include low blood pressure, slow heart beat, difficulty breathing,
severe dizziness, confusion, weakness or fainting.

Blood pressure
may rise significantly after missing a few doses. Signs of
dangerously high blood pressure are chest pain, dizziness, headache, blurred vision,
confusion, restlessness, trembling of hands, fingers, anxiety, stomach pains, nausea and vomiting.
