Generic Ceclor
(Generic name: Cefaclor)
Drug Uses
Ceclor is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections including those of the
nose, tonsils, throat, skin and soft tissues, genitor-urinary tract and the respiratory tract.
How Taken
Adults are to take 250mg to 500mg every eight hours. Children 1 month to
12 years are to take 20mg per 2.2 pounds of body weight per day in divided doses every eight hours.
Ceclor Precautions
Avoid potentially dangerous activities until you know how this medication will affect you.
Tell your doctor I you are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant.
Missed Dose
Take it as soon as you remember. This will help maintain a constant level of mediation in your system.
If it is near the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosage schedule.
Ceclor Side Effects
Severe allergic reaction (such as breathing difficulties, confusion, hives, itching,
swelling of the face and throat, sweating and lightheadedness) severe stomach pain and
cramps, fever, and severe, sometimes bloody diarrhea are all serious side effects and
your doctor should be notified immediately.
Storage
Store in tightly sealed container and keep away from heat, moisture and direct light.
Keep the liquid form refrigerated, but don·t allow it to freeze.
Overdose
If you suspect an overdose, contact your doctor immediately. Symptoms might include seizures,
severs abdominal pain, bloody diarrhea, vomiting.
More Information
Ceclor is only effective against infections caused by bacteria by preventing bacteria from
forming cell walls; it is ineffective against those caused by viruses,
fungi or other microorganisms.
