Generic Detrol
(Generic name: Tolterodine Tartrate)
Generic Detrol Uses
Detrol is used to treat uncontrollable urination due to overactive bladder syndrome
marked by the need to urinate frequently, immideiately and an inability to control urine release.
How Taken
Detrol is taken twice a day beginning with a 2mg tablet.
With Detrol LA, the
beginning does is 4mg twice daily. The dose may need to be adjusted and caution
should be used when impaired function of the liver or kidneys is present.
Detrol Precautions
Tell your doctor if you are taking erythromycin, ketoconazole, itraconazole or
Monistat as these block the path of elimination of urine.
Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is close to your next dose,
skip the missed does and resume your normal schedule.
Detrol Side Effects
The most common side effect of taking Detrol or Detrol LA is dry mouth, dry eyes,
headache, upset stomach and constipation. Notify your doctor if you experience any of these.
Storage
Store in original packaging and keep away from heat and direct light.
Overdose
There are no known cases of overdose reported.
