Generic Ditropan
(Generic name: Oxybutynin Chloride)
Drug Uses
Ditropan is prescribed to decrease muscle spasms
of the bladder
and frequent urination caused by these spasms.
How Taken
5mg 2 to 3 times per day
Warnings/Precautions
Adverse reactions may be more likely and more severe in older patients.
Do not drive or engage in hazardous work until you determine how the medicine affects you.
Avoid alcohol and consult your doctor if you are pregnant.
Missed Dose
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is close to your next dose, skip the
missed does and resume your normal schedule.
Possible Side Effects
Eye pain, skin rash or hives are considered serious side effects and should be reported to
your doctor immediately. Constipation, decrease sweating, drowsiness, dry mouth, nose and
throat are less serious side effects and must be tolerated.
Storage
Store in a tightly sealed container and keep away from heat and direct light. Keep syrup in
refrigerator but do not allow it to freeze.
Overdose
If you suspect an overdose has occurred, seek medical treatment immediately.
Symptoms of an overdose can include flushing, fever, confusion, clumsiness, severe drowsiness,
rapid heartbeat, hallucinations, breathing difficulty and unusual nervousness, restlessness and irritability.

Consult your doctor for specific advice if you are taking antidepressants, antihistamines,
antipsychotic, or have any of the following: severe bleeding, colitis, enlarged prostate,
glaucoma, heart disease, sever and constant dryness of the mouth, hiatal hernia, high blood
pressure or any problem with urination.
