Lisinopril/Hydrochlorothiazide
Drug Uses
Hydrochlorothiazide is used to
treat high blood pressure and to treat conditions that cause edema.
How Taken
Adults should take 1 or 2 capsules or tablets once a day. Children, the dose must be determined by your doctor.
Warnings/Precautions
Adverse reactions may be more likely and more severe in older patients.
Missed Dose
Take the missed dose of Hydrochlorothiazide as soon as you remember.
If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume a regular dosing schedule.
Do not double the next dose.
Possible Side Effects
Possible side effects of Hydrochlorothiazide include skin rash, hives, intense itching,
swelling of the mouth and throat, breathing difficulty, heart rhythm irregularities or
palpitations, lightheadedness or dizziness, unusual bleeding or bruising.
Notify your doctor immediately should you experience any of these side effects.
Storage
Store in a tightly sealed container away from heat and direct light.
Overdose
Fainting, lethargy, dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, and gastrointestinal irritation
are signs that an overdose has been taken. Seek medical help.
More Information
Hydrochlorothiazide is usually prescribed once a day. To prevent it from interfering
with sleep, take it in the morning. If you are taking it for high blood pressure,
follow the diet and weight control measures recommended by your doctor.
