Generic Levaquin Uses
Levaquin is used to treat pneumonia, chronic bronchitis and other infections caused by bacteria.
How Taken
Adults take 250 to 500mg once a day for 7 to 14 days. After an nintial dose
of 250 to 500mg, patients with kidney problems receive 250mg every day for 7 to 14 days.
Levaquin Precautions
Levaquin should not cause problems in older patients, but you should not drive
or engage in hazardous work until you determine how the medicine affects you.
It is advisable to abstain from alcohol when fighting an infection.
Missed Dose
Take Levaquin as soon as you remember you missed a dose. However, if it is near
the time of your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosage schedule.
Do not double the next dose.
Levaquin Side Effects
Serious reactions to Levaquin are rare and include seizures, mental confusion,
hallucinations, agitation, nightmares, depression, shortness of breath, unusual
swelling in the face or extremities, and loss of consciousness.
Call your doctor immediately if you experience any of these side effectas.
Storage
Store in a tightly sealed container away from heat and direct light.
Do not allow the liquid forms of Lecaquin to freeze.

If Levaquin causes sensitivity to sunlight, stop taking the drug and try to
avoid exposure to sunlight for the next five days. Wear protective clothing and use a sunblock.
Levaquin should not be taken by patients whose work makes it impossible to avoid exposure to sunlight.
