Mestinon Uses
Mestinon is used in treatment for Myasthenia Gravis. Mestinon is a active oral cholinesterase inhibitor.
Muscles receive impulses from the nerves from the chemical acetylcholine.
This medication helps patients have more mobility and function in breathing,
swallowing and the movements of their eye.
How Taken
Dosage varies for each patient’s individual needs. Follow the prescribed
directions your physician gives you carefully.
Mestinon Precautions
If you suffer from asthma of the bronchial area notify your physician
immediately before taking this medication.
Missed Dose
Do not take a missed dose until you have spoken with your physician and
received the detailed information on taking the dosage.
Mestinon Side Effects
Vomiting, secretions of the bronchial increased and torn, nausea, diarrhea
abdominal cramping and salivation increased.
Mestinon can also cause some twitching of the muscles and weakness
or cramps in the muscles also.
Storage
Mestinon retains moisture in the air and should not be stored in areas
with high amount of moisture. A dry place is the best storage for this medication.
Overdose
The signs of overdose from Mestinon are weakness of an extreme nature in the
muscles; call your physician when these signs first appear.
