Generic Monoket
(Generic name: Isosorbide Mononitrate)
Monoket Uses
Monoket is used for the prevention of angina pectoris or pain in the chest.
This does not help the pain from angina once it has already started.
Monoket Precautions
Monoket should not be stopped abruptly. Dizziness can occur so caution should be used
if driving or doing anything that needs your full concentration.
Missed Dose
The dose missed can be taken whenever it is remembered. Two doses should not be taken at one time.
Monoket Side Effects
Tell your physician if you notice any changes while taking Monoket. Dizziness
and headache are the common effects. Acetaminophen will help with the headache
pain and the effects of the headache should subside after your body gets use to the medicine.
Storage
Monoket needs to be kept at room temperature.
Overdose
Over dosage of this medication can become fatal. You must immediately seek
help medically if an overdose is suspected.
More Information
Monoket and the effects on pregnant women has not been thoroughly tested.
You must let your physician know if you have plans or are pregnant before taking this medication.
The effects of Monoket being taken by a nursing mother has not been fully tested either.
You should speak with your physician before taking if breast feeding.
