Generic Neurontin
(Generic name: Gabapentin)
Neurontin Uses
Neurontin is used in treatment of seizures of varying types and in management for
postherpetic neuralgia (nerve pain). This condition is usually caused by the shingles or herpes viruses.
How Taken
Take this medication as prescribed by your physician. A full 8 ounces of water
should be taken with each dosage also.
Neurontin Precautions
Drowsiness and dizziness can occur so use the necessary precautions when driving.
If you breast feed, discuss this with your physician before taking as Neurontin is passed through the breast milk.
Missed Dose
Take the dosage as soon as remembered. If it is close to your next scheduled dose then skip the missed dose.
Neurontin Side Effects
Drowsiness, dizziness, vision blurred, nausea, vomiting, tremors and impaired
coordination are all possible side effects of this medication.
Storage
Neurontin should be kept at room temperature. If it is an oral suspension then it needs to be refrigerated.
Overdose
Emergency medical attention needs to be sought immediately.
