Periactin Uses
Periactin is used in the treatment of allergy and cold symptoms like nose
stuffiness, itchy, red eyes, inflamed nasal passages and hay fever. It is an antihistamine.
How Taken
You should follow the directions for dosage prescribed by your physician.
Periactin Precautions
As an antihistamine Periactin usually causes drowsiness and precautionary
measures should be taken if driving or doing any dangerous tasks until you know the reaction you have on this.
Missed Dose
Take the missed dose when remembered, if the missed dose is close to your
next dosage then skip it altogether. Two doses should never be taken at once.
Periactin Side Effects
Diarrhea, drowsiness, impaired coordination, chills, vomiting, confusion,
dryness of nose, mouth or throat, sensitivity to light, insomnia and vision
blurriness are all possible side effects of Periactin.
Storage
Keep in a closed tightly container at room temperature.
Overdose
Periactin overdose could prove to be fatal. Medical help should be sought immediately.
More Information
MAO inhibitors like antidepressants, tranquilizers and sedatives along with alcohol
should be avoided at all times while taking Periactin. If breast feeding or pregnant, avoid taking.
